SOURCE DIRECTORY · UNITED STATES
United States: official online gambling sources by state
Online gambling in the United States is licensed state by state. This directory lists the official pages for the 17 states we track, from New Jersey and Pennsylvania to the sports-only markets, each opened and checked on the state's own site.
- 17 states covered: 7 with online casino (NJ, PA, MI, WV, CT, DE, RI) and 10 sports-betting markets.
- Minimum age is 21 in all 17 states, confirmed on official pages or in state law.
- Only a few states keep a consolidated enforcement list: New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts and Virginia's settlement list.
- Advertising rules were not found on official pages for Michigan, Delaware or Rhode Island.
The United States has no federal online gambling regulator; each state that permits online casino or sports betting licenses operators and publishes its own rules. This directory gives the official pages for 17 states: the regulator, its list of licensed operators, where it publishes enforcement, its advertising rules, its self-exclusion programme, the helpline it lists and the minimum age. Each link was opened on the state's site on 24 October 2026, except those marked ‡, which block automated checks and should be opened directly.

State notes
New York, Illinois, Ohio, Massachusetts, Arizona, Colorado, Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia and Tennessee license online sports betting but not online casino. Delaware and Rhode Island run online gambling through their state lotteries with partner casinos, so they list authorised sites rather than a licence register. North Carolina's sports betting regulation has moved to ncgaming.gov. Tennessee taxes handle rather than revenue and does not publish operator revenue. West Virginia's most recent openable licence list was dated April 2024; a newer version is linked from the lottery's business portal.
Where enforcement appears
New Jersey posts Director's actions in twice-monthly folders; Massachusetts keeps a single noncompliance table; New York lists Gaming Division violations; Pennsylvania announces consent agreements in press releases. Elsewhere, decisions appear as individual news items or documents. Our US fines tracker compiles the published actions for five states.
