Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal data Jurisdexa (jurisdexa.online) handles, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to meet the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR, Canada's PIPEDA and US state privacy laws as they apply to a small publication. Last updated 24 October 2026.

Who is responsible

Jurisdexa is responsible for the personal data described here (the data controller). You can reach us about anything in this notice at hello@jurisdexa.online.

What we collect

Contact form and email. Your name, email address, the organisation if you give one, the reason you chose and your message. Please do not send health, financial or other sensitive details; we do not need them.

Spam protection. When you submit the form, we keep a keyed one-way code made from your IP address and the time of submission, so we can limit messages to three per hour. These records are deleted after one hour.

Server logs. Like every website, our host records technical data when pages are requested: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type and referring page. We use these only for security and to keep the site working.

What we do not collect. No analytics, advertising pixels, tracking cookies, social media plugins, third-party fonts or third-party scripts. The site search runs in your browser using a file on our own server; what you type is not sent to us.

Cookies

The contact page sets one cookie, named jdx, which works only on that page. It protects the form against forged submissions and ends when you close your browser. It is strictly necessary for the form to work, so it does not need consent under the UK and EU cookie rules. No other page sets a cookie.

Why we use it and our legal basis

We use contact details to read and reply to your message, and to check any correction or decision you send us. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running an accurate publication and answering the people who write to us; the tick box confirms you have seen this notice. We use spam-protection records and server logs on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure. We do not use your data for marketing, profiling or automated decisions, and we do not add you to any mailing list.

Who else sees it

Our website and mailbox are hosted by Hostinger, which processes data on our behalf under its data processing agreement. The agreement names Hostinger International Ltd (Cyprus), Hostinger UK Limited and Hostinger Global S.à r.l. (Luxembourg) as the Hostinger entities, and lists sub-processors including Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud.

We do not sell personal data, share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, or give it to anyone else, except where the law requires it or to protect our legal rights.

International transfers

Your data may be stored or processed outside your country. Where data leaves the UK or the European Economic Area for a country without an adequacy decision, Hostinger's agreement applies the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

How long we keep it

  • Messages and our replies: up to 24 months after the last contact, then deleted. If your message leads to a published correction, we keep the record of the correction (not your contact details) in our corrections log.
  • Spam-protection records: one hour.
  • Form cookie: until you close your browser.
  • Server logs: for the period set by our host, used only for security.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • correct it
  • delete it
  • restrict how we use it, or object to our use of it
  • send it to you or another organisation in a portable format

Write to hello@jurisdexa.online. We reply within one month, and may ask you to confirm your identity first. There is no charge.

If you are unhappy with our answer, you can complain to a regulator:

US residents, including in California, have the same access, correction and deletion options by writing to us. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it, and we will not treat you differently for using your rights.

Security and children

The site is served only over HTTPS. Form submissions are protected against forgery and automated spam, and mail settings are stored outside the public web folder. No method is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect so there is little to expose.

Jurisdexa is a research publication for professionals. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and its date. Use of the site is also governed by our terms of use.
